Best Mac deals for Black Friday 2024: Our advice

Apple just updated the Mac mini and iMac with M4 chips, which usually means you can get a good price on an older model. However, this year it is important to know that Apple also doubled the RAM on the base models from 8GB to 16GB. That’s essentially a $200/£200 price cut since prices stayed the same in the U.S. and actually dropped in the U.K. As a result, the older generation of iMac and Mac mini would have to be considerably reduced in price to compete with the value in the newer models.

You’ll see how much RAM (aka unified memory) is on offer for the deals below, so you know exactly what you are getting. We also include the price Apple sells Macs for and the price it used to sell them for in the case of discontinued models.

Does Apple discount Macs for Black Friday?

Apple doesn’t discount Macs for Black Friday. Rather, Apple gives away gift cards with certain purchases.

For Apple’s Black Friday offer in 2024 it is giving gift cards for the following amounts with specific Mac purchases made on Apple’s U.S. site or Apple’s U.K. site: $200/£160 Apple Gift Card with a 15-inch MacBook Air (M3), a $175/£140 Apple Gift Card with the 13-inch MacBook Air (M3), or a$150/£120 Apple Gift Card with a 13-inch MacBook Air (M2).

Since they are so new, the MacBook Pro models, Mac mini and iMac aren’t included for 2024.

While up to $200 is a good ‘saving’ if you are planning to buy a second Apple product, or if you credit your account and then get a discount on all your monthly subscriptions, it’s not as big a discount as you might get if you shop around.
