AirPods are at all-time lows for Black Friday so grab these deals now

Black Friday, the yearly shopping event where everyone hunts for the biggest deals, is here! Apple’s AirPods are famously popular gifts and travel companions, and various models are often on sale throughout the year. But this Black Friday has brought incredible all-time-low prices on AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max.

Many retailers in the U.K. are also offering discounts on older models, just keep in mind that a non-ANC pair of AirPods 4 at $129/£129 would be a better choice than £109 for AirPods 2nd gen, as we have seen at Argos.

AirPods deals for Black Friday 2024: Our advice

Apple’s newest earbuds are the AirPods 4, which come in two models, a basic AirPods 4 that retails for $129/£129 and an upgraded version with Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) for $179/£179. The two models are identical with the same great sound quality, battery life, and features, other than ANC. So, even if you find a good price on AirPods 2 or AirPods 3, it’s probably worth spending more and getting the AirPods 4 instead—they sound and fit much better. Also, considering that the AirPods 4 without ANC at $129/£129 offers better features than the AirPods 3 that used to sell for $179/£179, it would have to be a really good deal to choose them over the newer buds.

Similarly, Apple recently updated the AirPods Max with USB-C for charging, replacing the Lightning port. But they have no other new features, so if you find a better deal on the Lightning version, consider that model instead.

Finally, the 2nd-generation AirPods Pro hasn’t been updated in a couple of years, but Apple keeps adding features to keep them fresh. The latest is Hearing Protection, which has a clinical-grade hearing test to turn them into an over-the-counter hearing aid.

Apple doesn’t ever discount AirPods for Black Friday, but it does give away gift cards with purchases. In 2024 you can get a gift card worth $75/£60 with the purchase of AirPods Max; a $50/£40 Apple Gift Card with the AirPods Pro 2, and a $25/£20 Apple Gift Card with the AirPods 4.

Because the AirPods 4 are so new we aren’t seeing big savings from other resellers, so the $25 offer is a decent one. A $50 voucher with the AirPods Pro and $75 with the AirPods Max aren’t bad either, but other retailers are selling them for cheaper, at least until they run out of stock.
